A pictorial record of rural Eastern Islands (East Nusa Tenggara) in 1975, an unforgettable journey. The airplane took off from Jakarta's Kemayoran airport (no longer exist), with Garuda DC 9 (no longer operating). Overnight in Denpasar, then in the following day continued flying with turbo-prop Twin Otter to Ende in Flores island.
The journey started from the city of Ende in the south to Maumere in the north coast of Flores island, over the distance of over 140km. It took four days to complete the journey by road, including awaiting for low flow when crossing rivers, where the bridge did not exist yet. It was quite a memorable journey, being for the first time traveling out of Java and for the first time flying with the airplane. The photos were taken with Olympus Trip 35.
