A quick stop at Long Beach (Pantai Panjang) Bengkulu to capture light before sunset, November 28, 2022 (Camera: Leica c112)
On November 19, 2022, I travelled to Manokwari, capital of West Papua Province. The pictures here were depicted from around Pasir Putih beach, a touristic area in the eastern side of the city where the visitors flocked during weekends. The photos were taken with Leica C112.
Camera: Nikon FM Project: Photo Series with a theme, and uploaded in Instagram, one day one photo. CFD Photo Series. Photo Series' theme is CFD - photos taken during car-free day along boulevard Sudirman-Thamrin on Sunday, first uploaded on May 31, 2021. The photos were taken with Nikon FM analog camera, using Ilford Delta100 B/W ASA 100 film. The photos were developed with Ilford Ilfotec DD-X as developer and Ilford Rapid Fixer as fixer. Developed (negative) film was scanned with EPSON V600. For most of the photos the camera is set to 1/500 sec for shutter speed and f/8 for aperture. There are six photos in total. Developing film by my own is a dream come true. It truly was an interesting experience. Also, it saves money and time as compared to sending it to a commercial photo lab. The excitement in developing film ourself is paid off, I am satisfied with the results. I used Ilford Ilfotec DD-X for developer with 1:4 mix, and Ilford Fixer as the fixer. I am still struggling to print film with enlarger manually, I am currently using scanner from Epson. My first trial was not really good, I noticed lots hair-like marks on the final printing. My second attempt gives better results.
In the first trial, I used 1974 Mamiya RB67 (see photo above) while on the second attempt I used Yashica D (1959), both are medium format cameras, and in both cameras I used expired film (1993) from Kodak TMax 100. The pictures shown here were taken on Sunday morning, along Jl. Sudirman, Jakarta, where people flocked to walk, jog and ride bike. Jakarta car-free day was not applied due to pandemic. Enjoy viewing... Owning a medium format camera is a dream come true... I finally got a Mamiya RB67 from husband of my wife's friend, not only this dream camera, but also with a huge bunch of expired BW film: Kodak Tmax 100. I could not resist myself to take it around during Jakarta car free day on Sunday in early October 2019. It is quite an effort to carry this beast around, not only because it's heavy, but also not so easy to take picture... not to mention how complicated is to load the film... and a result, sometimes unexpected photo appeared as you see above. Anyway, happy viewing... Passer Baroe or Pasar Baru (New Market) was known in the past (and still is) as popular spot in Central Jakarta, where people come to buy anything, from shoes to hats, from clothes to watches, and many others. This shopping heaven, built in 1820, was popular during colonial time for Dutch people to shop, where shops were found along this stretch of 800 long road. The pictures below give at glance the situation of this place 199 years later. The entrance gate that you see here was added later as reminder to the past. At the other end of the road, in a mall called Metro Atom Plaza, there are shops selling and repairing cameras. This was the place where I came in early August 2019 to repair my analog vintage camera, Vivitar V3000s. This is the camera that I used to take all the pictures you see here. I used Ilford Delta 100 film in black and white. These pictures appeared in my article in 35mmc, click the following link to read the article: www.35mmc.com/?s=vivitar+v3000s Enjoy viewing... As like other big cities, Jakarta is experiencing heavy traffic, particularly during weekdays from Monday to Friday. On Saturday, the traffic is less hectic, but during Sunday, from early morning till about 10 o'clock, along Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Thamrin, Jakarta's main boulevard, the traffic is closed, and only public busway (transjakarta) could pass through. During these hours, the people of Jakarta could enjoy this wide road, empty of cars, for jogging or just walking around, with children or with pets..... Some enjoy street musics played by individuals or group of musicians..... Others buy drinks, foods and cookies, and also do a street vendor shopping... The pictures below are taken in one Sunday morning in November 2018, during car free day, taken with Leica M4, plus Jupiter 12, 35 mm lens with B/W filter and Ilford PAN 400 for film. |
